Under good lighting it forms densely branched deep green shoots that look like fir branches. Prickly mosses do best on vertical surfaces where branching shoots are established. Best described as the big brother of Christmas Moss but from Asia, 2-10cm tall, rougher and larger with deep green, branching shoots.
