Rinse the material in fresh or salt water before initial installation in the aquarium system. Use in a calcium reactor according to the manufacturer's instructions. The rate of water flow through the reactor in combination with the pH of the water inside the chamber (s) will have the greatest effect on the rate of dissolution of the media. Follow the manufacturer's instructions provided with the calcium reactor to adjust the water flow and CO2 infusion rates and achieve the desired calcium and alkalinity concentrations.
