Easy-Life Nitro and Easy-Life Fosfo are used to compensate for nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) deficiency, respectively. A deficiency of these macronutrients immediately leads to stunted growth or even stunted growth. N and P deficiency can quickly occur in plant aquariums containing too few or no fish because too little or no fish food is used. Along with fish feces, fish food is the most important source of N and P. A deficiency can also occur in aquariums with very high plant densities. Extra nitrate is mostly added to planted aquariums with lots of plants and few fish. In such cases there may be a lack of nitrates causing poor plant growth. Normally the target value of NO3 is between 10 - 20 mg/l (= 10-20 ppm).
