TROPIC MARIN

Tropic Marin® Phos-Start is based on the nutrient supply mechanisms as they occur in the natural environment of coral reefs. It can be used to install all types of saltwater aquariums, but is particularly suitable for installing reef aquariums with dead rock or reef ceramics and for reef aquariums without substrate. Such aquariums have a low supply of organic bacterial food and nutrients to stimulate the growth of bacteria and coral algae. Tropic Marin® Phos-Start fills the gap in nutrient and mineral supply in these aquariums and promotes good coralline algae growth. It also prepares the aquarium for holding and growing corals, including the more sensitive SPS corals.  ...More

Extremely broad spectrum of action, better dosage control and optimal effectiveness through the use of insoluble particulate ingredients. Inspired by the best natural biological principles.
Application: For use in the first 2 to 3 months during the start-up phase and in young aquariums. Tropic Marin® Phos-Start can be added at any time of the day or night. Since the application makes the water somewhat turbid and in order to utilize the nocturnal opening of the coral polyps, Tropic Marin® Phos-Start should preferably be applied around the time of lights out. The transient cloudiness that forms is normal. After the turbidity subsides, the water is exceptionally clear.
Half fill a container with about 200ml of reef aquarium water (reverse osmosis water is not suitable!) and add the calculated amount of Tropic Marin® Phos-Start. Mix the powder and water well by stirring. Pour the suspension into the aquarium stream and rinse the cup with aquarium water.
Dosage: Start with a daily dose of 1 ml (small measuring spoon) of Tropic Marin® Phos-Start per 400 l of aquarium water. If after four weeks the phosphate concentration in the aquarium has not reached between 0.05 ppm and 0.15 ppm, double the dose to 2 ml (large measuring spoon) per 400 l.
We recommend not to exceed the maximum dose of 4 ml per 400 litres.
Note: A temporary increase in algae growth is a normal part of a healthy start-up phase in saltwater aquariums. This should not be a cause for concern. An initial temporary brown discoloration of the coral is an indication of the desired nutrient regulation in the aquarium and should also not cause concern.
