Supplement containing concentrated iodine. In a marine aquarium, iodine is responsible for the overall function of cells and the transport of nutrients between them. Iodine is constantly consumed by the inhabitants of the aquarium, therefore, without replenishment, its level in the water decreases rapidly. Iodine is used by corals to synthesize pigments that allow them to adapt to changing light conditions and protect tissues from ultraviolet radiation. In hard corals, Iodum increases the intensity of dark blue and purple. Adequate iodine content in seawater supports the melting of shrimp.
