Chemical filter peat reduces the pH value and reduces the water hardness.
EHEIM TORFel pellets consist of specially processed, acid peat. It is rich in valuable substances such as humic acids and trace elements (so do not wash it). Peat pellets reduce (acidify) the pH value of water and thus reduce the hardness of water. However, pellets should only be used if the pH required for this type of fish is exceeded. Peat filtration is particularly suitable for tropical clear to black waters.
